We are pleased to assist our Kelowna, BC based client, a leader in the vape hardware, marketing, branding and custom packaging market, in the search for a Market Development Manager.  Our client provides products and services to businesses and consumers in the cannabis industry, and their demonstrated track record has established successful brands that are achieving strong recognition in the industry.  

This position requires a determined and passionate sales professional with a proven track record in outside sales, and one that is successful at developing long term consultative partnerships.  You will play an instrumental role in defining and leading the sales process, positioning it for future growth by identifying, selecting and developing new business opportunities.

You will be responsible for winning new business and retaining valued existing business. This will be achieved through cold calling, networking events, joining associations, connecting with decision makers, etc. The Market Development Manager position is a fast paced and activity driven roll where constant communication with prospects through all modern mediums will be key to success.

Your qualifications will include:

  • True B2B sales experience with a comfort in dealing with businesses of all sizes
  • Proven ability to foster strong client relationships
  • Lead generation
  • Prospecting
  • Demonstrated success in developing new accounts quickly
  • Proven track record in closing sales and meeting sales targets
  • Strong communication skills--verbal and non-verbal
  • Self-motivated and activity driven
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Valid Driver’s license—vehicle is required
  • 5+ years’ experience in Sales, Account Management, or Trade Marketing
  • Previous success leading and growing a successful sales team, including; hiring, training and mentoring
  • Previous experience being a Brand Manager an asset
  • Clean drivers abstract

Your Job Responsibilities will be:

  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
  • Provide prompt phone/email follow up to all inbound calls/leads
  • Properly document and track results of all conversations with leads
  • Find and follow leads
  • Build a client book for markets based on management directive.
  • Manage key accounts and Crown corporations within the province
