Here we are with the first quarter of 2015 having raced by. We placed 14 personnel in new full-time positions in the first 6 weeks of 2015 and hundreds of temporary staff throughout the first quarter. It’s been a brisk start to the year with clients’ needs always evolving and changing the norm. The customization of our temporary contract, permanent, outplacement and skill evaluations services have been well received by our old and new clients. Customization of these services enables us to effectively meet our clients ever changing needs in a timely, cost effective and in a performance driven means on a short term or a long term basis.

Some new things to tell you about so far this year,

  1. June 1st 2015 is our 20th Anniversary in business in the Okanagan. A milestone that any business should be very proud of. In reflection, how did we achieve that milestone? Here are a few reasons:

  1.  We have just launched our new website. Please come visit us at www.okanagan staffing.com and check out our job postings! We have a fresh new look with more of an Okanagan flavor emphasizing the lake and orchards. This is phase one of many to come as we evolve with the times.

 

  1. As the labour pool tightens, we continue to enhance our recruitment services by expanding our social media presence on Linkin and continue to evaluate other social media options.

 

  1. Switching to direct deposit a year ago and a bi-weekly payroll continue to be well received by our temporary employees. Employees can access their paystubs on line through a system called Epost. This has brought higher standards to our payroll process making us entirely paperless.

 

  1. The skill marketing of highly skilled applicants seeking work elsewhere to prospective employers has proved successful. Employers have commented that they appreciate being notified who is available even though they may not have a vacancy.

 

  1. We welcome any questions or feedback on our services from our client’s or employees.
